5 out of 5 stars Works well   June 28, 2010

I used this pad with the Meguiar's G110v2 Professional Dual Action Polisher to apply Meguiar's M-0616 Mirror Glaze Professional Cleaner/Wax. 16 oz. liquid and then Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 (18-Ounce Liquid).

The pad stayed securely on the polisher (hooks and loops system) and followed the car's body fine. I only had one pad and had to wash it after using Mirror Glaze and before using NXT Wax. I attached the wet pad to the DA polisher and turned it on to spin the water out of the pad. The pad did not fly off.

Using the DA Polisher and foam pads allowed me to perform a lot of time and labor consuming tasks in a lot less time if I attempted to do it by hand.

I am very satisfied with this pad.

5 out of 5 stars Great finish.   June 28, 2010

I used this finishing pad for the first time this weekend and am very pleased with the results. Using the Meguiar's G110v2 Polisher, I first used the Soft Buff polishing pad and Speed Glaze to prep the surface (be careful around headlights and trim - these will scratch), and then used the Soft Buff finishing pad with Meguiar's mirror finish synthetic sealant. Made good use of a very rainy afternoon in the garage, and the car looks great.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money   June 12, 2010

I have a Porter Cable 7424 polisher which I purchase several years ago. I always used it with some pads and bonnets from Griots Garage, but I decided to give the Meguiar pads a try this time.

I use my polisher with a Porter Cable "18001 hook and loop standard pad" and I never have had a problem with the Griots products. I attached the Meguiar pad (which is really just a round piece of foam with some cheesy felt or something glued on the top)and after a couple of hours of use, the Porter Cable pad had basically cut through the cheap foam, ruining it.

Disappointed, I contacted Meguiars customer service. They agreed that the Porter Cable hook and loop pad was was safe to use with the Meguiar foam pads, but was basically told the problem I had was because of: 1) My backing plate was was "bad" and had rough edges 2) I was using too much pressure or 3) My backing pad was "very old" and could be brittle

I can not see how they justify selling these foam pads for $10 a pop! Save your money and look for a better product - that is what I am going to do. The Meguiar pads I bought are going back

Purchased to work with a Porter Cable polisher and backing plate. It does indeed work well.
